Four Members of Dwoskin Lab Win AwardsMay 11, 2012
Three members of Linda Dwoskin's research laboratory were recognized for their poster presentations at the Bluegrass Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience (BGSFN) Spring Neuroscience Day, while another member of the Dwoskin Lab earned first place in the UK College of Pharmacy's annual Rho Chi Research Day.
The Spring Neuroscience poster session was held in conjunction with the UK Center for Clinical and Translational Science's (CCTS) 7th Annual Spring Conference.
Graduate student Vidya Narayanaswami and postdoctoral fellows Drs. Mahesh Darna and Justin Nickell all were recognized for their posters at the event.
The titles of their posters were:
- "Diet-induced obesity: Dopaminergic and Behavioral Mechanisms as Predictors and Outcomes" (Vidya Narayanaswami)
- "Individual differences in impulsive action and impulsive choice are associated with dopamine and serotonin transporter function in rat orbitofrontal cortex" (Dr. Mahesh Darna)
- "1,4-Diphenethyl-Lobelane Analogs: Potent and Competitive Inhibition of the Vesicular Monoamine Transporter-2" (Dr. Justin Nickell)
Graduate student Sucharita Sen Somkuwar received first place in UK's Rho Chi Research Day poster session. The title of the poster was "Adolescent methylphenidate versus atomoxetine treatments on dopamine transporter function and expression during adulthood in an ADHD model."
