Graduate Student Receives Top Honors at Poster Competition
May 16, 2012Yuhuan Wang, a second-year graduate student in Dr. Gregory Graf’s lab, received first place in the Barnstable Brown Obesity and Diabetes Research Day poster competition.
The event is sponsored by the Barnstable Brown Kentucky Diabetes and Obesity Center, Center of Research in Obesity and Cardiovascular Disease, and the Nutrition and Oxidative Stress Training Grant. With a focus on current findings in obesity and diabetes research, the program features presentations by nationally prominent physician-scientists, as well as regional researchers chosen from abstract submissions.
Wang’s poster was entitled, “Alleviation of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress rescues the ABCG5 ABCG8 cholesterol transporters in obese, insulin resistant db/db mice.”
