College Hosts Pharmacy Students from Japan

May 22, 2012

Eleven Kitasato University (Japan) pharmacy students are spending two weeks on campus to experience how pharmacy is practiced in Kentucky. The students are joined by Kitasato faculty member Yoishi Tanaka, Ph.D. Dr. Tanaka visited the College ten years ago as a pharmacy student before finishing graduate studies and accepting a faculty position at Kitasato. The program is part of an almost 30-year relationship between the UK College of Pharmacy and Kitasato University.

While in Lexington, the Kitasato students learn about pharmacy practice from a variety of perspectives. They also have an opportunity to experience Kentucky culture, touring an array of locations throughout the Commonwealth.
