Timothy S. Tracy, PhD, RPh
Dr. Tim Tracy is a native of South Webster, Ohio. Dr. Tracy received his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Ohio Northern University and began his career as a pharmacist in Gallipolis and Portsmouth, Ohio, before returning to school to receive his doctoral degree. He received his Ph.D. in clinical pharmacy from Purdue University, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical pharmacology at Indiana University.Dr. Tracy began his academic career at West Virginia University where he served as a faculty member working his way from assistant professor to professor from 1992 to 2003. In 2003, he joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota as professor and was named department head in 2004. In August 2010, Dr. Tracy became Dean of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. Dean Tracy made an immediate impact upon arriving at UK. He led an initiative to make the College of Pharmacy more efficient and effective by centralizing the College’s business operations into a Central Business Office. Dean Tracy was tapped to bring his budget expertise to the University level when President Eli Capilouto named him Chair of the University of Kentucky Financial Model Steering Committee.
In April 2012, Dean Tracy was named Interim Provost of the University of Kentucky.Dr. Tracy has published almost 100 scientific manuscripts, more than 15 book chapters and edited two books. He has been principal investigator on grants totaling more than $6M in extramural funding and co-investigator on grants totaling more than $15M in extramural funding. He also holds two patents.
