Distribution Molybdenum (Mo)
concentration in guinea pigs following 25 days of inhalation of sub-LD50
doses of the sulfide, the dust and fume of Mo trioxide, and Ca molybdate
was fairly uniform in lung, liver, kidney, spleen and bone for all Mo
species at the end of exposure (Fairhall et al., 1945;
Dick and Bingley,
1951). Mo concentrations were 1 to 6 g/g fresh tissue for all substances
except Mo trioxide and Ca molybdate dusts, which were 2- to 4-fold higher
in kidney, lung, spleen and bone.
Rats stored more Mo from
ingested Mo trioxide than from Ca molybdate. Mo storage was least from
(Fairhall et al., 1945;
Dick and Bingley, 1951).
