Community Service Course Details

The sequence of courses PPS 910-960 is designed to help students develop the professional skills, attitudes, knowledge and behaviors necessary for contemporary pharmacy practice. These are reinforced in the Pharmaceutical Care laboratory sequence (PPS 919-969) and in the experiential portions of the curriculum. To assist students in further preparing for practice, the PPS 910-960 course sequence requires students to engage in and reflect upon community service projects. Through service learning activities, students will be exposed to key issues faced by the local community. Students will examine how personal as well as professional values guide one’s thoughts about and response to those key issues within the community and finally- reflect upon how they can work to improve the lives of others or society at large.
To specifically meet the community service requirement:
1) Students must arrange and complete a 3 hour community service project/activity each semester and
2) Submit a reflective essay and complete a survey of details about your community service project/activity.
- Submission deadline for essay AND survey: 5:00 pm - Friday, December 11
- Late submissions or unsatisfactory work could result in a lower grade and/or failing to receive credit for your course.
- See links provided below for details on how to submit your community service assignment.
